America has an opportunity to be a nation that agrees with God through a combination of promises that God calls “covenants”. The “Abrahamic covenant” or “God’s covenant with Israel” is the covenant that comes with a blessing for those who bless Israel.

God gave a special promise to those who obey His covenants. He cares about how the world treats His chosen people. Remember that God’s Son came from the Israeli people, of the tribe of Judah. It is important as Christians in America to understand what this means to this nation specifically. The covenant God has with America is a hedge of protection if America chooses to defend the land of Canaan in favor of the people of God and give that same kind of protection to Israel. The ancient promise that God gave to Abraham is recorded in the book of Genesis.

“I will make thee a great nation and I will bless thee; I will make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing. I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” – Genesis 12:2-3

Hope for everyone:

Not just Americans or Israelis are covered under God’s covenant but all people are welcome to be part of it by becoming one of the followers of Jesus. The promise of salvation and a chance to be part of Israel only takes a commitment to Christ.

“And if you belong to Christ, then you are of Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” -Galatians 3:29

The original agreement between God and Abraham is summed up as:

God’s Covenant with Israel:

The covenant is… that if Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob obeyed the words of the Lord they would inherit the land of Canaan and have many children.

God expects us as Christians to obey the words of His Son Jesus, especially the “New Covenant”, which is the sacrament of holy communion.

The New Covenant (The Words of our Lord):

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take, eat, this is my body, which is given for you, this do in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” – Luke 22:19-20

To be part of the “New Covenant” means giving your life to Christ and obeying His words by joining other Christians in fellowship. The sacrament of holy communion is something that most churches keep. It is the meal that we partake of and believe that it is Jesus’s true body and blood.

If you wish to be one of the followers of Jesus you can give your life to Him right now by praying this prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with water and the Holy Spirit. Feed me the bread of life and let me drink from the cup of salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.
